Meet the Mysterious Nightjars of Haldon Forest Park

The European Nightjar (Caprimulgus europaeus) is a nationally rare bird and one of the most important of the rare species that make their home at Haldon Forest Park in Devon. Each summer, Haldon becomes the breeding territory for 40-50 pairs of nightjar, around 1% of the UK’s entire breeding population
For this video, we followed ecologist, Aaron, and bird ringer, Nik, on a nocturnal adventure and captured some wonderful footage of a rare bird in impressive surroundings.
